            I am writing to express my interest in the editing position for your newspaper, The Herald, as advertised on JournalismJobs.com.

            I am well qualified in editing and formatting with several programs, including Microsoft Office, Publisher, Powerpoint, Excel and Adobe InDesign. I am also fluent in AP Style.

            I have formatted a fiction novel that can be ordered online and have edited multiple stories for my journalism class. I participated in a 3 month long simulation called “The Practicum,” which is an in classroom version of a newsroom. I have worked two different jobs as well as going to school and playing sports, and I believe that it is my work ethic that will make me stand out inside this work place.
